Body Positive Therapies

About Me

I grew up in in lower Michigan. After graduating from Grand Blanc High School, I went to the University of Michigan in Flint and received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre in 2000. In my last year of schooling at UM-Flint, I learned about a movement therapy called Alexander Technique, used largely by performers. This shifted my focus to manual therapy and research into this technique led me to a massage school in my area. I took a chance and, through my schooling in massage therapy, discovered that I possessed a skill to manipulate muscle and provide relaxation and, in many cases, freedom from pain. In 2001, I earned my certification in massage from the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage.

I truly believe in the power of regular massage to heal the mind and body as I have seen so many people benefit from it. My personal philosophy is that massage doesn't have to be painful to be beneficial. One should expect some discomfort in tissue that is not 100% healthy, but it is my desire to provide a massage that is both helpful, and relaxing and enjoyable.

I lived in the Escanaba area of Michigan's upper peninsula from Spring 2001 to Summer 2021 and have enjoyed working regularly as a massage therapist since 2012. I started out working for a local chiropractor and eventually opened my own business. While in the UP, I met many wonderful people, and have helped many people there in their quest to be pain and stress free. In June 2021 I moved to lower Michigan to be closer to family and am now seeing clients in the Plymouth area.
